CBD oil has several uses. It is a healthy product. It is worth using in treating various symptoms and health conditions. That said, its use has attracted plenty of controversy over the years. The controversy hinges on the fact that there is plenty of misunderstanding regarding what it can do. How long does it stay in the system though? This question is valid since CBD is contained in cannabis, which has all manner of effects in the human body long after consumption stops.
How long does it stay in your system?
First, it’s good to understand why this question is important to many people. For a start, you could be up for drug screening at work or for an upcoming interview. Some employers are known for testing for both THC and CBD. Such tests are rare, but they happen. For this reason, you have to be ready to avoid failing the test and pushing your name in the list of those up for a reprimand or the next lot of employees to be sacked.
The effects of taking CBD oil need roughly 1-2 hours to manifest. Some people feel something after only a few minutes. The time it takes to feel the effects of consuming the oil depends on several factors. First, it depends on how much of the oil you consumed. Two, the method you used to consume it also plays a role. The more oil you consume, the longer its effects will remain in your system.
Normally, a small dose of around 2-5mg will last in your body 1-3 hours.
A larger dose of roughly 10-20mg will remain in your system for around 3-5 hours.
What if you take the CBD oil for several days consecutively? In such a case, you should expect the oil to remain in your system for roughly a week. After about a couple of weeks, its presence will be undetectable in your system thus saving you from constantly worrying about failing a drug test at work. For most people, it takes a week virtually for the CBD oil to leave the blood completely without a trace.
The three parts of the body that undergo testing to check for CBD include:
- Hair – Indefinitely.
- Saliva – Up to a day.
- Urine – Up to a week.
The saliva can only retain traces of CBD oil for up to a day. On the other hand, it can remain in your urine for up to a week from the last consumption. The hair represents a different story altogether. Hair is capable of maintaining an accurate pharmacological record of everything you have consumed for the rest of your life. Here, hair is not limited only to what’s on your head. It also refers to hair found in other parts of your body.
Now that you know more about and the time it takes to get out of your system, you should only buy this product from reputable manufacturers and sellers. Otherwise, you could end up with oil that contains extremely high levels of CBD and THC, which would then make you fail drug tests. You now have the information to help you make informed choices regarding consumption of CBD oil or products that contain CBD. oil
