Discovery Studio logo
The company name (Accelrys®) and corporate logo must appear with the registered trademark (®) on all promotional marketing collateral from the website to printed literature. The logo must not appear without the registered symbol.
The Accelrys logo is composed of three colors—black, a dark blue PMS 295, and a light blue PMS 2995. Equivalent CMYK (print use) and RGB (electronic use) colors are provided below. The circle symbol is made up from a gradient of the two blues.
PMS |

To enhance the logo design, an exclusion zone has been created which must always be respected. The zone consists of the immediate areas surrounding the circle mark, the logo lettering, and the registration mark. This area (the x-height of the Accelrys text) must be kept free of all other graphical elements. Shown in gray in the diagram to the left.

The logo must not be separated into any of the following.

Circle above wording
This is not allowed.

Circle without wording
This is not allowed.

Wording without circle
This is not allowed.

Logo on the diagonal (in any direction)
This is not allowed.

Logo on its side (in any direction)

Corporate logo
The corporate logo should be either printed with the correct three color Pantone or the four color process (CMYK) colors. See the corporate logo details for more information.
Two color corporate logo
If there are restricted color options the two color version of the logo should be used. In this version the circle is made up of one color (PMS 300). Alternatively the logo may be printed in CMYK process colors. See the CMYK color equivalent to PMS 300.

Two color corporate logo on black
If the logo is to appear on black, this version shown left with white Accelrys text should be used. In this version the circle is made up of one color (PMS 300). See the CMYK color equivalent to PMS 300.

White on color and background image/pattern
If the logo is to appear on colors the white version should be used. However in special cases where the logo is to appear on a background image/pattern, please obtain final approval from your Accelrys Media contact.

Grayscale
This version of the logo should be used in grayscale production.
The logo examples displayed to the left show the smallest sizes recommended for the majority of printed materials.
Maximum size of 180 x 48 pixels. See the exclusion zone section for information on the blank space that needs to be included around the image. For the website, the logo can only be used on a white background.

To maintain a consistent typographic look throughout printed documents a limited family of fonts should be used. For in-house printing purposes, i.e. writing letters, reports etc., the preferred font is Times New Roman. If headings are required in a sans serif font then use Trebuchet MS as shown.

The font Trebuchet MS should be used for electronic media including Microsoft Powerpoint and the website. This can be downloaded free of charge at http://simplythebest.net/fonts/fonts/trebuchet_ms.html. Verdana can be used as body text in situation where Trebuchet MS may not be appropriate.

General rules for body text
Body text should be set in TheSans semi-light. However, if a serif font is needed then Minion MM Roman should be used. Body text should be set between 8 and 10pt.

Italic versions of these fonts can be used within the body text. TheSans semi-light may be used for subheadings, but be aware of readability issues. Long subheadings should be in normal font.

General rules for headings
Headings should be set in the bold or semi-bold versions of TheSans. When using italic for subheadings, use TheSans semi-light (see above)

General rules for numbers
Numbers that do not appear in the body text should be lining figures, i.e. TheSans semi-light expert.

Other fonts
Excessive letterspacing should not be used for lowercase text. However, if letterspacing is required the use of smallcaps is preferred. When using TheSans CAPS fonts, do not have the initial cap larger. All caps must be the same height.
The Discovery Studio product family logo and its color values are shown. As with the Accelrys logo, an exclusion zone must be adhered to. For the Discovery Studio logo, this should be a minimum space of half the square's height.
