Senior Account Manager, Life Sciences

This position will be responsible for exceeding the sales quota by prospecting, developing, and closing new business for Accelrys' Life Sciences accounts. Primary job duties are prospecting & developing new business leads in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and clinical vertical markets. The successful candidate will possess successful outside sales experience and have excellent phone skills. The qualified candidate will have at least 8+ years of experience in selling enterprise software solutions, professional services, global management consulting, technology services, or enterprise resource planning. Account Manager (Entry Level Opportunity)

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable sales experience and will be the training ground towards becoming a full-fledged Account Manager. This position will support the entire West Coast Region for sales into R&D departments of Life Science accounts, such as Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Agrochemical. The day-to-day responsibilities of the Account Manager will include completion of all processing, development, conversion, and fulfillment of leads received into the sales database (Salesforce.com). The implementation of field level marketing programs and activities at the direction of Account Managers and Sales Management will be a priority in this role. Image Analysis Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and skilled C++ software engineer to work within the R&D group in San Diego. This individual will focus on the development and maintenance of image analysis and image manipulation software within the Pipeline Pilot platform. The successful candidate will maintain responsibility for imaging applications and as such will work directly with internal and external stakeholders within R&D, marketing, services, and partner organizations. In addition to excellent C++ skills, the ideal candidate will have experience IPP image library, in addition to an interest in pursuing a software development career in the image analysis domain. Statistics and Data Modeling Engineer

We are seeking a Software Engineer with a strong background in statistics and data modeling to work in the SciTegic R&D group in San Diego. This role will share responsibility for developing statistical components within the SciTegic Enterprise Server platform for our customers in Materials and Life Sciences. The primary responsibilities will include writing statistical software and analysis of data, using techniques ranging from classical statistics to advanced data modeling algorithms. The qualified candidate will possess an advanced degree in statistics, physical science, or a related subject, as well as experience developing software solutions that apply statistics to real-world problems. Expertise with C++ and OOP skills are required, experience in Matlab, SAS, S-Plus, or R is a plus. 3 years software development experience in a commercial environment is required.

Accelrys is looking for a Senior Solutions Consultant to join our Solutions Consulting group that will take responsibility for the design and implementation of custom enterprise software solutions based on SciTegic's Data Pipelining environment. The integration with commercial and non-commercial scientific packages from Accelrys or third-party vendors as well as making sure that the solutions are technically appropriate will be a top priority in this role. This position will be responsible for leading project teams as well as acting as client liaisons, managing performance review making sure that the projects are on time and within budget. Candidates must have strong object-oriented design skills and significant C++, Java / J2EE, Perl, and C# / .NET development expertise.  Candidates should be comfortable with Oracle and capable to designing relation database models for OLTP and data warehousing. Consultants will work with business owners, scientists, and engineers in the life science and materials science fields to drive requirements gathering, solution design, and implementation of custom solutions. They will lead and conduct Design and Implementation strategy sessions. Strong documentation and presentation skills are required. S/he will possess a BS in CS/EE/ChE, or a PhD in Physics, Chemistry or a related discipline and have at least 5 years experience developing commercial software products or enterprise software applications. Applicants with a proven interest and expertise in life or materials science methods and familiar with a number of existing packages from Accelrys, Tripos, and MDL will be preferred. Prior experience with statistics packages such as SAS and R will also be preferred. Candidates with Agile software development methodology experience will take precedence.
